From its roots in Las Pinas to its evolution in Paranaque, I have been an admirer of Don Limone Grill.
I have my go to favorite dishes there like Hummus En Fuego and Chicken Espetada, not to mention the freshly baked house focaccia bread, but I also enjoyed trying new items being added to its menu. Plus watching new imaginative flavors of cheesecake, like Saffron and Date (!), being added to Don Limone's cheesecake board is such a treat. My latest love is the painfully seasonal Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake.
The newest milestone for Don Limone this time around is its move to an even bigger place in idyllic Tagaytay. It has a beautiful spacious indoor dining room decked with specially commissioned paintings reminiscent of classic Italian murals. For diners who prefer to enjoy their meals al fresco, there is ample seating in the garden veranda. Those who choose to simply hang out and enjoy some wine and mezze or tapas, can do so in the snazzy well-stocked bar area.
The new place has that classic country hideaway ambiance that Tagaytay destinations are famous for, being tucked away in a cozy little compound, but it is easy enough to go to as that compound is right on the fork of Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway going to Mahogany Market after Mushroom Burger (if you are coming from the Tagaytay Rotunda).
Tagaytay with its cool weather and fertile soil is home to myriad fresh produce. This opens up even more possibilities in the kitchen for the creative people behind Don Limone Grill. Already creating wonders with Tagaytay's renowned pineapples with the Pineapple and Passionfruit Cheesecake, I can just imagine what Don Limone can cook up with Tagaytay's iconic Tawilis. It is certainly something worth coming back for.
