Marcia Adams' Restaurant

Marcia Adams' Restaurant is a popular dining destination among people who visit Tagaytay. You will not find it along the Ridge though. Located in Alfonso, Cavite the restaurant's address is not technically in Tagaytay. It is however just a footstep past the border of Tagaytay. Perhaps this was one of the reasons why we had an iffy time trying to find it at first.

The second time I had lunch at Marcia Adams' Restaurant, finding it was not exactly a breeze either. See the restaurant is not along the Tagaytay-Nasugbu road. You have to turn into a narrower street, which I think we missed a couple times. Then when you do get the right street to turn into, you have to keep your eyes peeled for either a tiny wooden sign with equally modest writing on your right or a big rustic wooden door to your left hiding in plain sight among healthy foliage, if it's a slow day.

If you're lucky, it would be a packed house and there would be lots of cars parked outside around that wooden door, making the endeavor enormously easier.

Oh and the wooden door is not the entrance. Do not try to open it or knock on it and expect Marcia Adams to open it and let you in.

When you're facing the door, the entrance to the restaurant is a breach on the adobe wall to your left. Walk through that opening and turn right on the rocky steps that lead to the restaurant. There is also a path going straight that looks like a driveway and slopes down.

Do not make the mistake of walking towards there thinking it will lead you to the dining area. I do not really know where that leads.

The dining area is al fresco. Being just beside Tagaytay, the place shares the same climate and terrain, so air-conditioning is a redundancy. It is a lovely restaurant with quirky pottery, colorful flowers and plants, and tall windows that open into a vast rolling green landscape. Perhaps this is why it was popularly known as Marcia Adams' Tuscany.

Marcia Adams' serve mediterranean food from grilled kebabs and hearty stews to panna cotta. Prices of meals  start at Php700 (plus service charge). This includes a main course, an appetizer, and a dessert. They only accept payments in cash as they currently cannot process credit cards.
